Create and issue a quote
A quote tells your customer what you offer and at what price. When they accept, it becomes an order or straight away an invoice.
On iPhone and iPad
- 01Open Sales > Quotes and tap New quote.
- 02Choose the Customer and the currency, and tap Create.
- 03Under Line items, tap Add line item or Select items and enter quantity and price.
- 04Tap Issue quote, check the quote date and tap Issue permanently.
- 05Send by email opens an email in your mail app with the PDF attached.
- 06If the customer accepts, tap Accept and confirm with the checkmark. If they decline, choose Decline in the ⋮ menu and give a Reason.
On the Mac
- 01Choose Quotes in the sidebar and click New quote.
- 02Enter customer and lines in the document window.
- 03Click Issue quote in the ⋮ menu.
- 04Record the customer’s answer in the ⋮ menu with Accept or Decline
Good to know
- Issuing gives the quote its number; content and PDF are fixed from then on.
- After acceptance, Confirm order is at the top of the record. Without orders, Create invoice is in the ⋮ menu.
- You can also write a quote to the company of a lead that is not a customer yet.
- If a consumer withdraws from the contract through the link, ord1nary tells you at once and shows the withdrawal on the quote. You send them the acknowledgement of receipt yourself, without delay: Send acknowledgement opens an email in your mail app with the PDF attached. Then Mark as sent.
Common problems
- ord1nary says there is no number series for quotes.
- No number series is set up for the year yet. The owner sets it up once.
- I want a similar quote again.
- Open the quote and choose Duplicate in the ⋮ menu.
